Senior Specialist - Michael O’Meara
Michael was born into a Melbourne family at the centre of the post-war modern art scene. His uncle and ceramic sculptor Tom Sanders collaborated with the icons of Australian fine art and Michael received unique insights into art making and selling from a young age. By the late 90's, Michael operated two secondary market art galleries in Western Australia, before establishing a broader creative consultancy.
For the past 20 years, Michael has resided in Melbourne with his contemporary artist partner Kate Elsey and operated internationally, engaged by numerous countries to facilitate national visions and prepare their next generation for an economy underpinned by creativity.
Today, Michael manages artists and assists collectors to develop and refine their collections of Australian art. Together with his partner Kate, Michael is a passionate donor and facilitator of art donations to benefit philanthropic organisations includingTelethon Institute for Child Health Research, Type One Family Centre, and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.
