Robert Allan is well known within South Australian and particularly Adelaide antiques circles, as a serious collector of English and European ceramics and in particular creations from the famed porcelain studios of Chelsea and Worcester.
As well as owning one of the very few Chelsea 'Goat and Bee' jugs left in private Australian collections, Robert Allan's collection features Chelsea parasol handles, scent bottles, bodkin cases and the very collected Chelsea toys. There is also a very rare collection of ceramics and works-of-art that celebrate William IV's wife Queen Adelaide, with all the relevance that has to Robert Allan's home town.
There are also some fine antiques, furniture carpets and some Australian paintings.
The auction will be on view in Melbourne in late June and viewable online early June.
