All three auctions in July feature fine European furniture. First-off is the Closing Stock in Trade of Helene Antiques of High street Armadale, where a pair of chairs by the famous Irish cabinet-maker Arthur Jones of Dublin go up for sale. At past auctions in Ireland and London, huge prices have been achieved in recent years for his rare and very distinctive designs.
Then some very fine English Georgian furniture is for sale in the auction on 30 July that affiliate Ben Albrecht is handling, notably a very rare George III triple-pillar dining table with a very enticing and conservative estimate of AUD$1,000-2,000
Finally later that sale day a collection of European furniture has been consigned from a distinguished Brisbane collection which features a very rare and very liveable 18th century Spanish poplar and wrought iron bench-seat that originally was sold by John Dunn Antiques of Melbourne many years ago with a starting bid offered of only $3600
